General Questions

You can check your CE hours on file with the Illinois Department of Insurance by visiting the State Based Systems website.

Education credit will not be given to a producer for a repeated course unless two (2) years have passed since the credit was last given for the course.

Licensed Illinois insurance producers are required to to earn 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years according to their renewal cycle. Of those 24 hours, it is required that three (3) of those hours must be an ethics course.

Yes. You may carry over 12 hours (above your required 24). Education credit hours will be applied in the order the Department receives them. You cannot carry over Ethics credit.

Most CE classes take about two (2) weeks to show on your license. Check your CE.

Registering for a Big I Illinois Course

You may register for a class here. Credit cards are accepted (MasterCard/Visa/American Express/Discover).

A confirmation email advising of your registration details will be emailed following input of your registration. Please provide a valid email address when registering. To ensure delivery of confirmation, add the domain "ilbig.org" to your safe senders list. Registrations received within two days of the class may not receive a confirmation.

We advise that you register as far in advance as possible, as some classes fill up quickly. The Department of Insurance advises that you complete all of your continuing education hours at least 4 weeks prior to your renewal date.

All classes are on a first come/first paid basis. Many classes have a limited number of spaces available. Class registration closes two business days prior to class start date. All dates and location are subject to change.

We cannot guarantee availability of space and materials on late registrations. Some classes may have a late registration fee.

You may cancel a course any time prior to the start date, however for a full refund, cancellations must be received in writing 14 days prior to the start date of the course. Cancellations received less than 14 days prior to the start date are subject to our cancellation policy. Please contact the Big I Illinois Education Department to request a cancellation. All cancellations are subject to the cancellation policy.
