Flood Insurance Training
Big I Illinois offers the required flood training once per quarter, as well as refresher courses.
There is a training requirement for all producers who sell flood insurance policies under the National Flood Insurance Program to ensure the producers may best serve their clients. Companies placing business through NFIP must maintain proof that all their producers have completed the required training.
Big I Illinois flood courses are approved for three (3) hours of Illinois CE.
During the course, you will learn the basics of the flood insurance market and review the main policy forms that are used in flood insurance today. The course will review flood zones, general rules and claims, and includes recent NFIP legislative changes.
Following the course, you will be presented with a certificate of completion. You must maintain the original certificate in your records, as the Department of Insurance, nor Big I Illinois, will have a permanent record of this required course. You will be required to provide companies with a copy of the certificate as evidence of your completion of this course.
